For forty years, we've been listening.

Simply Stereo opened its doors in 1985. The idea was simple, and it still is: find the gear worth listening to, and put it in front of people who actually want to listen.

For four decades we've watched the audio world expand, contract, lose its way, and find it again. Big-box retailers came in and crushed margins. Streaming reshaped what music sounds like. Home theater became a thing, then more of a thing. The brands we carry have evolved. The gear has gotten better.

What hasn't changed is the way we work. We still spend time with customers. We still tune the room before we tune the system. We still believe the right setup is the one that makes you forget the equipment is there at all.

We outgrew our first space and moved up the road. Forty years later we're still in Palatine, still independent, still doing the same thing.
